SPRAVATO® TREATMENT

Specialized support when depression has been difficult to treat.

Spravato® Treatment

Spravato® (esketamine) is a prescription nasal spray used for certain adults with depression. For treatment-resistant depression, it may be considered when previous antidepressant treatment has not provided sufficient benefit. Eligibility must be determined by a qualified healthcare provider. Spravato® is not taken home for self-administration; treatment is provided in a certified healthcare setting under healthcare-provider supervision, and after each dose patients remain at the setting for monitoring for at least two hours and until the provider determines they are clinically stable to leave.

The treatment journey may involve: initial enquiry and clinical assessment, review of diagnosis, previous treatment, health history, and eligibility, required intake and treatment documentation, in-office Spravato® administration for eligible patients, clinical monitoring after each session, medication management and laboratory work where clinically required, and ongoing follow-up or referral for additional mental health support when appropriate. Because Spravato® can affect alertness and perception, patients need to plan for time at the clinic after treatment and arrange appropriate transportation home.

This service is currently cash-pay. Your provider will explain the treatment-day requirements and safety information before treatment begins.
